The Kerala Story is a Hindi-language Indian film directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Shah. This is a story of a group of women from Kerala who convert to Islam and join the extremist Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
The film has presented itself a true story and how thousands of women around the world are being forcefully converted to Islam and recruited into ISIS. This claim has given rise to a very big controversy. But the film has been made tax-free in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and more states.The film also faced criticism from current political parties in Kerala, who accuse it of promoting the agenda of the Sangh Parivar and BJP party.
On the day of the film's release, the Kerala High Court prohibited to stay the film's release,Stating that the allegations in the film were about ISIS, not any particular religion. The producers agreed to remove the teaser, which had controversially claimed that 32,000 girls were recruited into ISIS and changed their movies parts.

The film earned ₹ 8.03 crore in India on the very first day of its release. The film beat Guardians of the Galaxy Vol,which was released on the same day ₹7 crore.Making the film the fifth-highest opener of 2023 in India.

The movie trying to show that those who do not believe in religion are easier to manipulate and get converted For instance, there is a scene in which Geetanjali, who belongs to an atheist family, listens very attentively to Asifa's statement that 'eating without prayer is a sin' and 'only Allah can protect us'.
